Laura Linney is an American actor who has become popular for her portrayal of powerful but fragile characters. When she was a child, spending time at the house of her father her interest grew for the stage. While in Brown University for a while, then later at Juilliard School to study acting. Following her graduation from Brown University, she started making her Broadway debut soon afterward. In the space of two years from this, her first feature film came out and the following year, her debut on television. Since then, she's appeared in numerous films, television productions and stage plays. Her achievements have been numerous over the course of her career which included several Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. She has been nominated for five Tony Awards and three Oscar Awards nominations. But, in spite of her recognitions and awards, stage is where she's at and she will continue to play on screen and stage.
