Jennifer Garner was originally born in Houston Texas on the 17th of April 1973. However, she was raised in Charleston West Virginia. William John Garner is her father. He was a chemical engineer at Union Carbide. Patricia Ann, her mother was a professor at a nearby university. In order to continue in the footsteps of her father, she graduated in chemical engineering. To pursue her acting dream the actress decided to move into New York and try her attempt at the world of Hollywood. The restaurant she worked in was and was a part of Broadway productions. The TV show "Felicity," she had one brief appearance. (It is on the show that she became acquainted with their husband Scott Foley. Garner made her breakthrough in the action thriller "Alias." Garner's debut lead role as a character was the widely praised romance "13 going on thirty." She played a teenager who found herself stuck in the body of the 30-year-old. Garner chose Gary Winick (director) to create the film. Together, they searched for projects that could be made until Winick's death in the year 2011. Garner was appointed as an artist ambassador by Save the Children U.S.A. in 2009, was an integral role in the organization. This role involves encouraging nutrition and literacy across America in addition to early schooling. In 2014, Garner has been a part of the board of trustees for this organization, pushing for early elementary education. As a spokesperson, she travels often with families who participate in Early Steps to School Success, a program that coaches parents on how to help youngsters in their learning.
