My son played in a playpen while I was working 12-hour shifts in sanding floors as well as removing the wallpaper. Ha! The whole thing was beginning to come together but it wasn't quite finished. There was a spot on the market in town where I would sell my items. In the end, I had so many pieces I didn't have a clue what to do with them and I outgrew my space. The house became a venue in which I held open houses where up to 1000 visitors could see the things on my first floor before purchasing them. It was here that my business Growing Days was born. My business was not only expanding, but so was my sweet family too. Finding the balance was important for me. I wished to be a mom as well as a business owner who was successful. Growing Days was the obvious decision. It was in 2013 when my beautiful daughter Nora came along our 4th baby. My business was booming however I needed a break. I opted to take a little breaks from my old furniture and slow down to be at home with my kids. It was exactly what I needed. After a while, off the phone started to call. Many people called me for help about home improvement or decorating. A majority of these were the ones who had strolled through my house during open houses for furniture! It wasn't long before I managed a large-scale home renovation company. It began with taking clients with a speed I felt comfortable with. It would have probably made me laugh if I had told you that it would be the foundation of the DIY Network tv series. Even now, when I reflect on the situation, I find myself laughing.
