April Lockhart

April Lockhart (born July 4 April, 1995) started her musical journey at the age of 7 when she took piano and guitar classes. April Lockhart composed her first track, Different at the age 12 years old. When April was 14 years old, she devoted an enormous amount of time making song concepts and perfecting her music. Soon after she began taking excursions to write with her father, who lived in NY and LA. April began also to incorporate additional topics that were related to of her peers who are dealing in the area of social pressure and teenage suicide as depicted in the song"Take" my Hand. Lockhart has her own fan base and works as an online lifestyle blogger for the renowned Ilia the Clean Beauty brand. Lockhart was born with no left hand, and it's part of her story, but this isn't the whole truth. Lockhart does not deny that she has a disability on Instagram, but she does not make it the main focus of the post. The message? It is important to remember that everyone has numerous faces. Our identities are diverse and we're more than our bodies. Lockhart through a video message sent from her Nashville home, states that I don't wish for that to be a part of me. I am far more than just my physical self. It doesn't impact my daily life. I go about the same way as I always do and have found my own methods to adjust. It's also a part of my life, and I think it should be discussed. Self-acceptance can be a marathon for a lifetime however Lockhart is a true inspiration on that front. Still, she admits that she went through a few phases regarding her appearance, feeling insecure at times to wear clothing that displayed her arms. Now she wears whatever outfit she likes and uploads photos on her Facebook page with pride. It's a journey is the key thing I don't know that you ever arrive she says of self-love. It's true for all regardless of their levels of anxiety. The people you surround yourself with that truly understand you, and can see through your eyes are the ones you should be relying on to help you remember what you're concerned about.
