Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28th, 1967. She is the fourth Roberts generation to reside in Atlanta, beginning with her grandfather who was a farmer, John Pendleton Roberts. At an early age, her dad became fascinated with theatre. In 1952, while studying at Emory University, he performed in several productions in Atlanta. Following his air force service, in 1953 he appeared in an airforce production in Biloxi along with Betty Lou Bredemus. The two married in 1955 and the couple's first child Eric Anthony was born in 1956. In 1957 the couple left the air force and Walter was enrolled at Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. Walter worked for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. The family moved in 1960 and relocated into Decatur Georgia. Walter along with Betty Lou began producing a television show for children in Decatur, Georgia called Bum Bum and His Buddies. They financed the production their own. The Actors and Writers Workshop was established in 1964 and lasted for 6 years. Lelisa Billingsley, also known as Lisa was born in the year 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
